Gan release 2025 records prize pool

Gan release 2025 records prize pool

Gan released their prize pool for world and continental records in different events on Instagram recently, essentially if you break a world record using one of their cubes and have it filmed so that it can be proven that you used their cube, they will award you a large amount of money provided you agree to let them use it for promotional purposes.

The prizes themselves appear to essentially match MoYu's offers for the same records but there are some differences. Gan are also offering prizes for female world records which is quite interesting, maybe they are trying to promote female participation in speedcubing, there is of course no reason why female competitors cannot solve cubes just as fast as male competitors.

Gan's prize pool also gives some insight into their plans as they are offering prize money for world records in puzzles that they don't actually produce at the moment, such as the 6x6, 7x7 and Square-1. There have been rumours that Gan are working on a 6x6 and a Square-1 and some people have tried prototypes over the past year, but does this confirm that they are definitely planning to release these cubes in 2025?

Their largest prize offering is for anyone who solves a Gan cube in under 3 seconds officially, they will be awarding about £22000, while any world record in 3x3 is eligible for £11000 in prize money. For other events, prizes vary, for 3x3 OH, blind and 4x4, they are offering £1500 in prize money, while for 2x2 they are only offering about £1100. For 5x5, they are offering £700 and for 6x6, 7x7, Square-1, megaminx, skewb and pyraminx they are offering £600.

So if you think Gan cubes are expensive, then just use them for what they are designed for, break a world record and then you probably won't care!
