I hold the world record for fastest time to solve the world's largest mass-produced 3x3x3, the DianSheng 34.8CM cube so I am obviously keen to try an even bigger cube and see what the limits of my technique and accuracy are.

Seeing this image here made me very excited as in the photo we see what could potentially be an even bigger 3x3x3 being held by the two guys at the back, it also shows a very big pyraminx and another 3x3x3 that is probably about 20CM, similar to the DianSheng 18.8CM 3x3x3.

I have heard various rumours that the new QiYi big cube will also have intentional capacity to store smaller puzzles, the edges on the DianSheng googol cube can obviously hold normal sized cubes inside them, but that was never their intention with releasing such a cube.

I have tried to figure out the rough size of the new QiYi big cube and was helped with a video on QiYi's instagram page of YiFan Wang (Asian record holder for 3x3x3 blindfolded) solving the giant cube blindfolded.

The average height of a Chinese man is 175.7CM, the measurements shown in the picture are measured as lines on Google Drawings when the image is put on a convenient aspect ratio, the ratio of the size of the cube to the the size of the line from YiFan Wang's waist to head can be used to give an estimate of the likely size of the cube. On average, a person's legs make up 50% of height so if YiFan Wang is as tall as the average Chinese person then his waist to head will be 88CM and since the cube is at a ratio of 7:13 of said height, this suggests that the cube is around 47CM in size which would make it significantly bigger than the DianSheng Googol 34.8CM cube.

I eagerly await news on whether I am right on this estimate and definitely plan on getting one of these giant cubes as soon as they are available, I have a feeling they are going to be very expensive though.
