YiHeng Wang breaks his own 3x3 world record again!

YiHeng Wang is clearly the best speedcuber in the world at 3x3 right now and this morning he cemented that title even more clearly than ever before!

This morning he achieved an average of 4.09 at Xuzhou Autumn 2024, this improved on his previous world record by 0.16 seconds and featured 2 counting sub-4 second solves. Only 15 people have ever officially solved a cube in under 4 seconds and yet YiHeng Wang has now done it 23 times in official competitions, we are getting closer and closer to the sub-4 average barrier!

I have already heard rumours that his final solve (3.88) was done at over 15 TPS. While it can be discouraging to see the fastest cubers achieve such insane times that you will (probably) never beat, I would urge cubers to keep trying, improve your own solves and climb the rankings, you may never solve a cube in under 4 seconds but solving it in under 10 seconds is definitely doable for almost anyone with enough practice.

There has been some controversy in the past surrounding YiHeng Wang sliding when starting the timer which makes it possible that he was actually still holding the timer when making the first turns, however, it appears he is not doing that for this average which makes it even more exciting to see! Maybe he is determined to keep breaking his own world record without risking any controversy.
