MoYu WeiLong V10 Full comparison

MoYu WeiLong V10 Full comparison

The MoYu WeiLong V10 is yet another excellent puzzle from MoYu, while many have been critical of them over the past year or so for releasing so many 3x3 speedcubes, these 3x3s have all performed quite well and the WeiLong V10 has been no exception. One common issue with the Super WeiLong (despite the ridiculously large box and useless cube watch accessory) was the corner twisting, I am pleased to say that this issue has been essentially completely fixed with the WeiLong V10. Corner twisting is significantly rarer.

The WeiLong V10 currently comes in 4 different versions (although MoYu have been known to add more later...):

WeiLong V10 Standard: This version features the standard corner-edge magnets and nothing fancy, it is however, an excellent budget 3x3 since it is under £13 and features the same impressive design as the other options.

WeiLong V10 UV: Unlike previous MoYu releases, they have not made the next version up feature maglev tensioning. This version is simply the same as the standard version but with a UV coated exterior, UV coating is a process which makes the plastic feel a bit smoother and more scratch resistant.

WeiLong V10 Ball Core: This time MoYu have gone straight for the 20 magnet ball core, the puzzle features a magnetic ball core with reasonably strong magnets on the corners connecting to the core and some very small magnets on the edges, I suspect MoYu have realised that edge-core magnets can have some benefit but must not be very strong, the magnet on the edge here is probably the smallest cube magnet I have seen.

WeiLong V10 Ball core + Maglev: Unlike with previous releases where Maglev has essentially been the standard for high-end releases, it is only the most expensive option which features Maglev this time. Maglev tensions work differently from springs as maglev features two repelling magnets in the centre, this eliminates the friction and allows the cube to turn very fast, however, all versions of this cube are too fast out of the box anyway so speeding it up even more isn't really necessary or helpful.
