On December 6th 2025, former multi-blind world record holder and current unofficial world record holder for old style multi-blind, Graham Siggins, did a 350 cube attempt, he had previously done an attempt of 250 cubes a few years ago. His attempt consisted of around 12 hours of memorizing cubes, followed by only 2 hours or so of execution (only 20-25 seconds seconds per cube). This is by far the largest old-style multi-blind attempt ever done.
Originally, multi-blind was done with no time limit but as people started submitting larger and larger numbers of cubes and taking up huge amounts of time, the WCA decided to introduce a 1 hour time limit and that is the format that most people compete in, however, this doesn't stop some people from pushing these limits unofficially.
This 350 cube attempt was done as part of an upcoming documentary about blindsolving, this documentary is not expected to be released for a long time but fortunately, Graham Siggins only made us wait one month to find out the results of his insane challenge.
The total solved was 319, meaning only 31 cubes were unsolved and the score was 288 points in total which is undoubtedly a new unofficial world record for old style multiblind. When counting up the cubes, Graham pointed out that many of the unsolved cubes were old cubes that didn't turn very well and he suspected that the poor turning caused a lot of his mistakes.
Attempts like this really push the limits as this attempt took a full 14 hours, essentially an entire day, I suspect the only way to push it much further is to memorize over multiple days and try to still retain memo during sleep, I wonder if anyone will dare try?
