the new smaller meilong 5x5x5 has performed much better than the old larger one but the question remains: how much better will it perform with magnets? Few cubers have tried magnetizing it themselves but now that is not necessary, it is done for us at a slightly higher price.

The X-Man Hong 5x5 is QiYi's 2024 flagship 5x5 release, it is their first flagship 5x5 released since the Valk 5 in 2019. The X-Man Hong is smaller than previous 5x5s at only 61mm and is the first mass produced 5x5 with a magnetic ball core, this allows the cube to be even more stable without compromising on the speed. This cube is likely to be used by many top speedcubers.

The QiYi Valk 5M is widely thought to be the best 5x5x5 on the market, it is used by essentially all the top 5x5x5 solvers, it boasts a very fast speed straight away but it is still stable and is recommended for all solvers and is even better with Neutrino!

The Gan 562 is Gan's first big cube release in many years and looks to be a lot more promising than their previous releases, it features a magnetic ball core just like the X-Man Hong and has already been used for various continental records. This version features a UV coated exterior to reduce scratching and alter the feeling of the cube.

The YJ ZhiLong 5x5x5 is a mini 5x5 speedcube, it is similar to the MGC and Aochuang WRM but far smaller. While it is somewhat similar to the MGC, it is not simply a mini version of it and does have a slightly different feel to it, the cube is fast and smooth and has good corner-cutting. It comes with a weak magnetic feel to it where it is still noticeable but not too significant.

It is only 61mm, which follows on from the trend of the WRM series being smaller than most cubes, it weighs just 133g which is slightly lighter than other top 5x5x5s. It is much faster than the Valk 5 but not quite as stable, it is definitely one of the best, if not the best 5x5x5 on the market.

The ShengShou 5x5x5 Mastermorphix is a 5x5 morphix puzzle, it theoretically solves just like a normal 5x5x5 cube but requires lateral thinking to solve.
