Can you solve a 3x3x3 cube using only 2 moves?

The answer to the question regarding this 2 move cube solving is obviously no! It is a shame I have any reason to make this blog post since it should be completely obvious to anyone but unfortunately this nonsense has gone around the web and some people seem to genuinely have the impression that a cube can be solved in 2 moves!

For me, the easiest two moves to execute repeatedly fast are R and U' (turn the right face up and then the top face anti-clockwise), repeating them 64 times from a solved cube does in fact return the cube to being solved but THAT IS ONLY IF THE CUBE IS SOLVED TO START WITH! those two moves do not have any effect on the rest of the cube, 4 other centres remain in place and the 5 edges and 2 corners to the side are completely unaffected by any movement of the R and U layers. Generally speaking, if any layer other than R and U was turned at all during scrambling, it is not possible to solve with just R and U moves, and even if it is possible to solve with only turns of the R and U layer, that does not mean they are going to be in any predictable order of turns.

Since the cube was first invented, people have theorised on whether it would be possible to have an algorithm that would solve it if repeated enough, this has become known as the devils algorithm, this algorithm has never been found and if it did exist it would probably be incredibly long and since it would have to cycle every combination, it would take an average of 21626001637234928000 repetitions of that algorithm, it is worth considering the fact that the vast majority of 3x3x3 scrambles have never been seen by humanity so I hope this clears it up, if you want to learn how to solve a 3x3x3 then follow my instructions and not some simple fake nonsense.
