Max Park reclaims 4x4 world record average

Max Park reclaims 4x4 world record average

Max Park has been reclaiming and improving many of his world records over the past month despite many people writing him off. Max Park has always been someone that can surprise everyone and come back and achieve excellent results.

Tymon Kolasinski from Poland broke the 4x4 world record average back in February and further improved it last month, getting the first ever sub-19 second average, an average of 18.88 seconds. Many people assumed that Tymon Kolasinski would completely overtake Max Park, especially after his world record average in the world championship finals, some even pointed to Timofei Taresenko as the next world record holder to beat Max Park.

But Max Park proved everyone wrong late on Sunday afternoon at a competition in California by beating the world record once more with a time of 18.74. I suspect Max Park had lost some interest in cubing over the past year or two but after losing world records and world titles at the world championships, he probably had a new determination to regain these records.

The reality is that Max Park will eventually lose his dominance, people will catch up and overtake him, but he seems very determined and very capable of hanging onto records for far longer than people give him the credit for.
