Volodymyr Kapustianskyi breaks clock world record twice at the same competition!

Volodymyr Kapustianskyi breaks clock world record twice at the same competition!

Volodymyr Kapustianskyi from Ukraine finally broke the world record average for clock yesterday, the world record average has slipped down so dramatically over the past year, partially due to the regulations change which allowed pins to be moved during inspection, but also mostly due to new methods being developed which allow the solver to efficiently avoid flipping the clock during the solve. Volodymyr Kapustianskyi has achieved some very impressive times at home in the past but he seems to have had a lot of issues with competition nerves, I am pleased to see that he has finally managed to overcome these nerves and achieve two incredibly fast averages.

In the second round of the competition, he achieved an average of 2.51 which beat Eryk Kasperek's previous world record by 0.01 seconds. however, what he did next was far more impressive as a few hours later in the final, he achieved an average of 2.39 which beat his own world record by 0.12 seconds, he essentially keatoned himself! Eryk's world record back in April was a massive jump at the time but it seems the barriers with clock are really being pushed now. Obviously it goes without saying that these record are reliant on the QiYi Clock as it is still the only decent clock on the market and remains very popular to this day.
