The WCA World Championships 2025 will be held from July 3-6th in Seattle, USA and looks set to be the largest speedcubing competition ever held. The first registration phase opened on Friday but only those meeting the qualification times were allowed to register, so far 606 have registered of the 2900 who could technically qualify, obviously many of those will no longer be active cubers or simply cannot afford to go over to Seattle. The initial qualification requirements include results such as a sub-8 3x3 average or sub-55 5x5 average or sub-3.5 skewb average.
The next registration phase will open on November 22nd and will allow people with slightly slower times such as me to register, the requirements there will be a bit more lenient such as a sub-10 3x3 average, if there are still spaces after phase 2 has opened then there will be another phase for people but I predict that it will fill up during phase 2.
Competitors who have qualified for one or more events in phase 1 or 2 will then be allowed to register for more events later if they would have qualified in a later phase.
