British speedcuber Danny Morgan broke the 4x4 national record single at Irish Championships 2025 last weekend. His time of 21.86 seconds beats the previous record which was set by Eli Jay all the way back in 2022 by 0.27 seconds. This ends 4x4 as the longest standing national record and also places the time in the top 100 in the world.

Now the longest standing national record is Jaye Sloan's 20.20 3x3 blindfolded mean, I think it is unlikely that we will see that getting beaten any time soon though.
