Premier Speedcubing League commences in Berkeley, California

Premier Speedcubing League commences in Berkeley, California

The first Premier Speedcubing League took place on Sunday 16th March 2025 and was very exciting to watch, the livestream was watched by around 500 people at a time on average, with some tuning in and out at various times. The competition format was very different to official WCA competitions as we had head to head matches among the top speedcubers, each competitor in the head to head went up one at a time to do their solve.

The format for each knockout was best of 3 sets, each with best of 3 solves. Ultimately, the final was between Matty Hiroto Inaba and Tymon Kolasinski which I suspect was what most people expected. There were some exciting moments in the event and lots of very fast solves, ultimately ____________________ came out on top (I shouldn't spoil it for you) and it did come pretty much as close as it could.

The goal of the Premier Speedcubing League is to make speedcubing more spectator friendly, they will be having another event in San Diego, California next Saturday and they plan to have many more events after that. It can be very exciting because if someone gets a low 4 single, you would assume that would be enough to win but you never know what the opponent will be able to do.
