US speedcuber, Stanley Chapel, recently broke his own 5x5 blindfolded world record single with a time of 2:03.33, this is the first time he has broken his own record since 2023 and pushes him slightly closer to the elusive sub-2 5x5 blindfolded single. Stanley's time is well over a minute faster than anyone else so far this year and further cements his mark on the big-blind world record.
Last year, Stanley chapel even offered a monetary reward out of his own pocket to anyone who could get a sub-1 4x4 blindfolded single - which would still be 8 seconds off his world record! While Stanley Chapel can solve a 5x5 blindfolded very fast, he rarely gets more than one success per mean of 3, he clearly prioritizes speed over accuracy, he has previously talked about how he one passes the memorization for 4x4 blindfolded (and presumeably 5x5 blindfolded too), something essentially no one else in the world can do.
Stanley Chapel's 5x5 blindfolded world record mean has stood untouched since 2019, his time of 2:27.63 was simply so far ahead of anyone else that no one has even come close since then.
