2 weeks ago, XuanYi Geng broke the world record average with a 3.71 second average, this beats his own previous world record of 3.84 and puts him even further ahead of YiHeng Wang, who XuanYi continues to accuse of sliding. XuanYi Geng uses full ZBLL and people were prediciting for a long time that he would eventually come out ahead.
XuanYi has developed an ability to look insanely far into solves and his solutions often rely on this ability, he can usually see the first 3 pairs and then do a ZBLS algorithm to force the cross ontop to be solved, then he is able to pretty much instantly recognize the ZBLL, we can assume his solves are generally 3 look and on some solves his lookahead may be so good that he only needs 2 looks. When ZBLL was first theorized, many thought that it wouldn't be practical as the recognition would take too long but XuanYi has proved that ZBLL recognition can be very fast indeed.
Let's have a look at some of his solves:
Solve # 1 - YouTube reconstruction
L2 B2 D' B2 F2 D' B2 D' L2 B2 L' U2 R D2 R' U F R F2 D R
x' z2 // inspection
r' R D R2' D R // pseudo cross
U L F' L' F // 1st pair
U R U' R' // 2nd pair
U R' U R y' L U2 L' U D' // 3rd pair/fix cross
L' U2 L U' F R U R' F' // 4th pair/ZBLS
U' R U2' R2' U' R2 U' R' U R' U' R U R' U R // ZBLL
This solve was a 3.79, he forms a pseudo cross and then solves two pairs before fixing the cross.
solve # 2 - YouTube reconstruction
U' R2 U B2 U R2 D' B2 R2 U' R' F' D L' R F R' B2 U B F'
y2 // inspection
F U2' R' y' U R' U' R F R // pseudo xcross

U' R U2' R' U L U F' L' // 3rd pair/finish cross
U R U2' R' U R U R' U2' R' F R F' // 4th pair/ZBLS
L' R U R' U' L U2 R U' R' U R U2' R' U // ZBLL
XuanYi appears to have messed up a bit here, on this occasion it seems likely that his pseudo cross was not intentional, he still managed to rescue the solve and get a 4.33 but it could potentially have been even faster.
Solve # 3 - YouTube reconstruction
U' F2 L2 U R2 D' F2 U2 F2 L' D' U2 L2 F L B2 D2 R' F2 U2
U r2' R' U2' F R // pseudo xcross

R' D' R U' R' D R U R U' R' // 4th pair/ZBLS
R U2' R' U' R' D' R U' R' D R2 U' R' U R U' R' U' // ZBLL
A 3.61 second solve with a very impressive pseudo F2L, this was his fastest counting time in the average.
Solve # 4 - YouTube reconstruction
B2 U' F2 U R2 D' B2 L2 B2 R2 F D R D L' D2 U F2 L2 R2 F2
x2 // inspection
r2' D' U' L U D2 R // xxcross

U' U' L' U' L F' U' L' U L F // 4th pair/ZBLS
U' R' U2' R U R2' D' R U' R' D R U2 R U' // ZBLL
This solve was a 3.74 which also could have been even faster, he found a very impressive xxcross solution which meant that he had already solved the cross and 2 pairs in 7 moves.
Solve # 5 - YouTube reconstruction
