Ryan Eckersley breaks National Record for 3x3 multi-blind

Ryan Eckersley breaks National Record for 3x3 multi-blind

Ryan Eckersley is far and away the best blindsolver in the country at the moment, especially for 4x4 and 5x5 blindfolded, however, he has turned his attention to multi-blind, where the cuber has 1 hour to solve as many cubes blindfolded as possible and has finally beaten Thomas Patterson's national record, which had stood since 2024.

Multi-blind scoring works by subtracting the number of unsolved cubes from the number of solved cubes so his result of 40/46 achieves a total of 34 points. It seems rather dangerous attempting 46 cubes but it does also give a bit more tolerance for mistakes. Ryan is probably capable of achieving an even higher result in the future and there really isn't anyone else close right now, Thomas Patterson hasn't attempted more than 33 cubes since his former national record in 2024.
