Product Description
Angstrom Research Celeritas
Angstrom Research Celeritas is one of the most innovative speedcube lubricants ever developed, introducing a unique two-part system that creates a turning feel unlike traditional silicone or water-based lubricants. Designed by Angstrom Research to push the boundaries of cube performance, Celeritas uses a chemical reaction between two separate components to generate an exceptionally fast, smooth, and long-lasting gliding sensation.
Unlike conventional lubricants that rely on a single compound, Celeritas consists of Reagent A and Reagent B, which work together after application. Similar to technologies used in epoxy resins and curing compounds, the two components must remain separate until use. Once combined inside the puzzle, they undergo a controlled chemical reaction that produces Celeritas' distinctive feel.
Reagent A contains a specialised silicone suspension carrying carbon-based monomers. Carefully selected additives keep these monomers stable and prevent them from reacting prematurely, ensuring maximum effectiveness once the second component is introduced.
Reagent B activates the reaction process. As the puzzle is turned, it encourages the monomers in Reagent A to cross-link, creating a unique low-friction gliding layer throughout the puzzle. This process not only produces the signature smooth and fast feel but also helps maintain that performance for an extended period of time, making Celeritas one of the most durable lubricant systems available.
The resulting experience is difficult to compare directly to traditional lubricants. Celeritas combines the speed associated with lighter lubricants, the smoothness of premium silicone products, and the longevity of more advanced lubricant systems, all while creating its own distinctive glide that many speedcubers describe as unlike anything else on the market.
This makes Celeritas particularly appealing to advanced cubers who enjoy experimenting with puzzle setup and are looking for a highly specialised performance upgrade.
What's Included
-
3cc bottle of Reagent A
-
3cc bottle of Reagent B
Key Features

Innovative two-part lubricant system
-
Creates a uniquely smooth and fast gliding feel
-
Chemical reaction enhances longevity and consistency
-
Designed for long-lasting performance
-
Different from conventional silicone-only lubricants
-
Excellent for advanced cube setup customisation
-
Suitable for a wide range of speedcubes and twisty puzzles
-
Can be combined with heavier lubricants if additional control is desired
How to Apply
-
Thoroughly clean the puzzle and remove any previous lubricant residue.
-
Add 1-2 drops of Reagent A to the puzzle.
-
Perform several solves or extensive turning to distribute Reagent A evenly throughout the internal surfaces.
-
Add 2-3 drops of Reagent B.
-
Immediately begin turning the puzzle to ensure an even reaction throughout the mechanism.
-
Continue solving as the lubricant develops its final performance characteristics.
Because the initial feel of Reagent A differs significantly from the final reacted lubricant, careful application is important. Using too much Reagent A may result in a puzzle that feels slower than intended.
Big Cube Recommendation
For larger puzzles such as 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, and 7x7 cubes, Angstrom Research recommends using slightly less Reagent A and slightly more Reagent B to achieve optimal results.
Important Notes
-
Some puzzles respond more favourably to Celeritas than others due to differences in plastic composition and internal design.
-
If the puzzle feels too fast after application, a heavier silicone lubricant can be added to increase control.
-
If the puzzle feels too slow, it is recommended to clean the puzzle and reapply using less Reagent A.
Disclaimer: Celeritas is intended for speedcube maintenance only. Do not consume. Keep out of reach of children and store in a cool, dry location.
Metal Parts Warning: Celeritas contains water. Do not apply directly to metal components such as springs, screws, bearings, or other exposed metal parts, as prolonged exposure may increase the risk of corrosion.

Please note that if a cube pops, this is not a reasonable justification for a return, all good cubes have the potential to pop occasionally, if it happens frequently you should consider tightening the tensions or turning more smoothly. Learning to fix popped cubes is an important part of your growth and development as a cuber, it is a very useful skill to develop, I have some tutorials on fixing pops on my youtube channel and there are obviously many more online.
