I BOUGHT THIS CUBE AT THE SAME TIME AS AN X-MAN TORNADO V3 FLAGSHIP AND, RATHER SURPRISINGLY, I ACTUALLY PREFER IT! IT IS TRUE THAT WHEN I LATER GOT SOME LUBE AND APPLIED THAT TO TORNADO V3 THEN IT PROBABLY DOES RANK AS A "BETTER" CUBE BUT THE POINT IS THAT IF YOU JUST USE THESE "STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX", AS SUPPLIED, THEN THIS MAY WELL BE THE BETTER CUBE.
IT FEELS REALLY LIGHT BUT IS REALLY CONTROLLABLE AND THE MAGNETS ARE JUST THE RIGHT STRENGTH TO SNAP THINGS TO PERFECT ALIGNMENT. IT PUTS A SMILE ON MY FACE EVERY TIME I SWITCH TO USING THIS AFTER USING OTHER CUBES (WITH THE POSSIBLE EXCEPTION OF that NOW LUBED TORNADO). YOU PICK UP THIS CUBE AND THINK "AH YES, THIS IS HOW A CUBE SHOULD FEEL".
The fact that this is only £12 is an incredible bargain. I know Tornado are heralded as the "cheap GAN killer" well this one may just be the cheap Tornado killer!
Everyone should by Moyu as they deliver premium quality/feel at budget prices (with that in mind I'm now looking forward to see what YS3M feel like as all reports suggest they might be even better yet!)
Lego + cube? What's not to like?
This is a fun thing to use as you get to build it first. It's true that it feels a bit "old school" in motion, more like an original, stickered rubix than a modern x-gan/moyu sticker less with maglev and magnets so you have to be more precise about alignment before turning in another Direction. But that's actually good practice for accurate alignment.
Talking of "practice", I actually bought this cube for a very specific purpose (and something I now know it's perfect for) and that is F2L pairing practice. I simply wanted a cube where I could leave the top layer black and only have the lower two layers coloured. I could have bought a traditional stickered cube and removed some upper stickers (as you'll see in a lot of training videos on YouTube) but this only costs £2 more than a £5 entry level cube and the great thing is you can add as many or as few coloured faces as you like and easily change it later. Oh and by the way the squares you clip on to colour the faces clip well and feel firmly attached.
So if you just populate two layers (and the yellow center for completeness) then this makes a great F2L trainer. Solve the white cross then you are just left with F2L pairs to find and insert which are much easier to spot without all the "yellow noise" that usually hides them.
Also I said the cube needs accurate alignment to turn but when practicing F2L this is a good thing as you aren't training for speed (this will never be a speed cube) but for recognition and planning so the slowness encourages look ahead.
All round I'd recommend this well priced cube even just for it's "novelty" and something you need for a complete collection. It's a lot of fun.

The cube itself is great. But the software you need to use with it is completely awful. It has cool bits to it and the feedback from the cube is accurate. But the optimisation and support is terrible, plus it's only supported on one device unless you want to log back in each time, plus you need to constantly be connected to the internet.
I have several Moyu 3x3 so when I wanted to try 2x2 then a Moyu RS2M was the obvious choice and I'm happy to say that, as I plough my way through Ortega I was quite right to choose RS2M. It has a lovely feel and unlike 3x3 where magnets are required to help alignment this just turns naturally anyway. BTW one curious thing you'll find after an hour or two on a 2x2 like this where the cubbies are getting on for 1" ^3 is that switching back to 3x3 the cubbies there suddenly feel ridiculously small and toy like - weird. Oh and if you are trying 2x2 then while you can do "beginners" which just involves a ton of sexy moves I'd take a look at Ortega straight away. If you always form the complete 1st layer (intuitively) it reduces to 7 OLL algos and just 2 PBL (really PLL) algos which even a decaying 60 year old brain like mine can commit to memory!
