This cubing comparison may be the decider for some people who cannot make up their mind on whether to purchase the QiYi MS 3x3, or the RS3M 2020. This is part one of the experiment to decide which cube can do better under different circumstances. In this case, I wanted to see which cube would do better (solve time wise), without any cube lubrication. The quick answer to this, is the RS3M 2020. Here is the long answer. When using the same scrambles for each solve, even though I used the RS3M 2020 for the first run-through, it still had a fastest average. What I mean by this, is that when already using the scrambles for the first solve set, the MS, could not keep up with the memory I have already ingrained from the RS3M 2020’s solves, to how much I could solve the MS I. The same time. This is because the MS has some major flaws when it comes to not being lubed. First one is, that it locks up way more than if it was lined. Secondly, it is scratchy and dry feeling when it is not lubed. That may slow down times, as the magnet strength is “stronger” when their is nothing holding back how fast a person turns. The RS3M 2020, still feels like it is lubricated a bit, even after it being thoroughly cleaned out. These are just some of the flaws that the MS has. Some flaws that the RS3M 2020 has, is it just feels a tad bit too slow because it feels lubed a tiny bit. That is about the only flaw that the RS3M has. One good thing about the MS, is that the magnets are stronger than the RS3M. One good thing about the RS3M, is that it does not lock up as much as the MS. In this experiment, clearly the RS3M 2020 is better than the MS. This may not be the final answer though, as their are some more experiments to come! Please stay tuned! This will be an excellent addition to the current line of budget 2x2x2s despite the stupid name, as we have mentioned in previous blog post, we expect this to be a very good 2x2x2, it is likely to be an opposite feeling cube to the Meilong 2x2x2 M, we expect this to be in stock at the beginning of November and will update on its performance when we can.

The XingHen TSM is an exciting new 2x2x2 from MoYu, it allows you to change the cubes size between 3 options: 50.0mm, 50.75mm and 51.5mm. It is a bit stiff out of the box but once you loosen the tensions and put a bit of fast lube in it, it speeds up significantly. It is nice and smooth with relatively strong magnets (probably 4x1 N50) but slightly lacking on the corner cutting. Unfortunately, it is only available in black so may not suit some people, hopefully this idea will be implemented into stickerless cubes soon though.

The RS4M has been announced recently and we hope to have it up for pre-order soon, from the little information we currently have available it seems like it will be a nice contender to the meilong 4x4x4 M and QiYi MS, it is 61.5mm. It appears to be slightly lacking in reverse corner cutting and may create a significant contrast with the Meilong 4x4x4 M, we hope it will perform well and possibly even challenge the YJ MGC. Recently we have seen budget 3x3x3s become very good and reasonable main contenders for top speedcubers, this may happen with 4x4x4s soon as well.

We are excited to have this new megaminx up for pre-order, we hope that it will be better than the YuHu V2M although pre-release reviews do appear a bit disappointing. The Weilong WRM 2020 is MoYu's latest flagship 3x3x3, while it does not have the customisable magnets other flagships have, it is an excellent cube and I am now using it as my main 3x3x3, although I don't really like having a main 3x3x3 anymore since they are all so good. We produced a video review on this cube as we like to do with all new WCA releases.
